    About Me

    Alex Johnson is a biochemist dedicated to developing innovative molecular tools inspired by nature, aiming to address today’s pressing challenges in conservation and sustainability. Combining disciplined leadership from his service in the U.S. Navy with expertise in structural biology and molecular engineering, Alex thrives on creating practical solutions that minimize environmental impact.

    Currently, he is advancing research in microfluidics, creating cell-like compartments designed as environmentally friendly platforms for detecting ecological pollutants.

    This past summer, he founded and led Caltech’s DIVE initiative, providing hands-on experience in bioengineering and synthetic biology to veteran students.

I’m passionate about translating cutting-edge biotechnology into practical solutions for real-world environmental challenges, with the ultimate goal of enhancing conservation efforts and sustainability practices.
